He has set himself the task of skating everyday in January and if you have woken up today you will know that the wind is full power and it isn't the best conditions for skateboarding. The winter battle bike is on the road. I took it apart, stripped off all the broken bits, cleaned up the good bits and replaced the bottom bracket.. Some second hand cranks and chain rings came from Billy at Brixton Cycles and i added a front pannier rack. At the moment i only have 5 gears working out of 21, but hopefully this can be corrected when i go and see Billy again tomorrow. So far so good.. it had no problem carrying a practice amp and bass guitar to Harry's last night for our first jam session..

Days ago, Palden Choetso walked out of her nunnery, covered herself in petrol and set herself on fire while pleading for a 'free Tibet'. Minutes later she died. In the past month, nine monks and nuns have self-immolated to protest a growing Chinese crackdown on the peaceful Tibetan people.

These tragic acts are a desperate cry for help. Machine gun-toting Chinese security forces are beating and disappearing monks, laying siege to monasteries, and even killing elderly people defending them -- all in an effort to suppress Tibetan rights. China severely restricts access to the region. But if we can get key governments to send diplomats in and expose this growing brutality, we could save lives.

We have to act fast -- this horrific situation is spiraling out of control behind a censorship curtain. Over and over we have seen that when diplomats themselves bear witness to atrocities, they are motivated to act, and increase political pressure. Let’s answer Palden's tragic cry and build a massive petition to the six world leaders with the most influence in Beijing to send a mission to Tibet and speak out against the repression. It is on the same street as Stockwell skate park.
It's run by and interesting character ..
It has got a dancing doorman on the weekends..
It hasn't been gentrified (as was threatened by some 20 somthing city pricks)..
It's still full of freaks..

I am so glad that we got a chance to skate a real pool this summer, even though just moments before i smashed my hip at the bowl in Shoreham so I had to take it easy..
Apparently the Pool is now dead to people like us. Thanks to Sam & Jamie for taking me Alex & Danny for a Sunday evening schralp on the real deal..

I forgot how much I love this band, I only have one album left on CD at home as lending compact discs to punks was always a bad idea.. scratched or never returned.. but thanks to the internet I am listening to it all again today, and absolutely loving Frankie Stubbs gravelly voice in my ears..
They never did get the recognition they deserved, but I keep hearing more and more bands trying to mimick their sound..

Look out for them as they have been playing some shows recently..

I found an old camera that i used for a while and wasn't sure even worked the other day. It had a film in it so i sent it off to get processed and it came back with photographs of The Crossfire Meanwhile 2 Jam and Lovenskates Pie eating contest.

I can't quite tell or remeber who is in this photo jumping the Gonz gap, but you can see Zac Leeks on the mic in there dressed in white.

Raleigh Olympus (1977)

here its is, what you've all been waiting for...to see my new bike! It is a Raleigh Racer Olympus made in 1977 to commemorate the Ralieigh team winning the Tour De France..
In March 2010 it is going to make a trip back to France to kick ass once again..
Its still got all its original parts, although i had to change the saddle to somthing more comfortable, and this weekend i changed the tyres and inner tubes for good luck..
The wheels are a little rusty so i polished them up as best i could. It has 5 gears and all of them work...
